Objectives: by the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to speak to describe someone and listen for details to complete the dialogue.

Materials: books, poster
Anticipated problems: Some weak students can’t speak any English words.
Procedure:
 Teacher Students
I. Warm- up: “Brainstorming” à The adjectives are used to describe the body build and hair
- give instructions
- suggested answers:
Body build - (thin, fat, slim, tall, short, over weight, slender)
Hair - (straight, long, short, black, dark, blond, brown)
II. Pre- speaking
1. Presenting
- give a picture to present the dialogue between Hoa and Lan
- give some structures and explain the meanings:
She has {blond} hair.
She is {short and thin}.
III. While-speaking
- give drills ( drill easily, give 6 posters of 6 people on page 11, 12 in the book)
Drill:
a. he/ tall/ thin à He is tall and thin
b. she/ short/ slim – She is short and slim
c. he/ short/ fat – He is short and fat
d. long/ black – She has long black hair
e. curly/ blond – She has curly blond hair
f. straight/ brown – She has straight brown hair
- call Ss to work in pairs following the model 
S1: This person is short and thin. She has long blond hair.
S2: Is this Mary.
S1: Yes.
- ask Ss to go on until six people on posters are described
IV. Pre – listening
- set the scene: We are going to listen to 4 dialogues illustrating different situations. Each dialogue has some missing information. You listen to the tape and complete the dialogue.
- play the tape 2 or 3 times
- ask Ss to compare the answer with a partner
- give the correct answers:

D. Anticipated problems: Some weak Ss can’t write the paragraph
F. Procedure:

I. Warm-up: “Answering quickly”
- divide the class into four groups
- ask Ss to look at the picture on page 17 quickly (for 20 seconds), and ask them closed the books
- give 2 questions, the group which answers correctly and the fastest wins the game
a. How many people are there in the picture? - four
b. What is each person wearing?
The woman is wearing a red shirt and a green skirt. The man who is standing beside the car is wearing brown trousers and a yellow shirt. The man who is standing on the pavement is wearing a pink shirt and blue trousers. The boy is wearing shorts and a white shirt
II. Pre- writing
1. pre-teach vocabulary
- ask Ss to read the information about Tam then answer some questions:
a. What is his name? – Le Van Tam
b. How old is he? - 14
c. What does he look like? – He is tall and thin. He has short black hair.
d. What is he like? – He is sociable, humorous and helpful.
e. Where does he live? – He lives at 26 Tran Phu street, HN.
f. Whom does he live with? – He lives with mother, father, and an elder brother.
g. Who is his friend? – Ba and Bao.
- let Ss write a paragraph about Tam individually, using the information they have just got
Example: His name is Le Van Tam …He lives with his mother…
- ask Ss to compare with the paragraph in their books on page 15
III. While- writing
- ask Ss to write some information about one of their friends, then write a paragraph about him or her
- correct some Ss’ writing
- give the suggested writing:
My friend’s name is Hoa and she is thirty years old. She lives in a flat in Ha Noi with her mother, father and her younger sister. She is slender and beautiful with long black hair. She is sociable and very helpful.
