Date : Unit 15: computers Period : SPEAK AND LISTEN I.Aim - Students will be able to use some common useful expressions to express agreement and disagreement -Listening for details and complete a flow charts II. Language contents: 1.Grammar : present simple 2.Vocabulary : chatting , pairwork, group work, personalization III. Techniques : - Chatting, pairwork , jumbled words… IV.Teaching aids : -cassette V.Procedures : Teacher’s and Students’ activities Content -T asks Ss to play game “jumbled words” -Ss find suitable words - T corrects if necessary -T teaches the new words and these expressions(P/140) -T explains the aim of the task - Ss talk about their opinions with agreements or disagreements -T introduces the situation and explains how to do the task -Ss read the dialogue silently to know its situation ( solving a problem) -Ss make up some similar conversations and act out before the class (pair work) -T corrects if necessary -Ss practice -T corrects if necessary -Put the flow chart on the board and have SS copy it into their exercise books -Get SS to understand how events are sequenced in a flow chart and the meanings of all the shapes used in the chart *SPEAKING 1.Warm up: Jumbled words: 1. terpirn = printer 2. malnau = manual 3. gaunratee = guarantee 4. pulg = plug 5. comnypa = company 2.Pre - speaking: T: The telephone is very convenient, Do you agree? S: Yes, we do T: Working with a computer is very easy, right? S: No, we don’t think so we think it’s difficult New words : challenging (adj) ñaày thaùch thöùc time – consuming (adj) toán nhieàu thôøi gian - entertaining (adj) thuù vò, mang tính giaûi trí - unhealthy (adj) khoâng laønh maïnh * Opinion (yù kieán) -I like……… - I don’t like …………. - I think……….. -I feel……… -I don’t believe …………. * Agreement ( ñoàng yù) -So do I -I agree -You are right -Neither do I * Degree of agreement ( ñoàng yù coù möùc ñoä ) -I agree, but ……… -Yes, but on the other hand…………. * Disagreement ( khoâng ñoàng yù ) - I disagree -I can’t agree with you -No, I think ……….. 3. While - speaking: * Matching : a/ Driving / learning to drive a car b/ Comic books / reading comic books c/ walking / playing in the rain d/ Foreign food / eating foreign food T Demonstrates picture a with some Ss T: Driving a car is easy S: I disagree . I think it’s difficult to drive a car - I agree, but sometimes it’ s dangerous to drive in a heavy traffic - Learning to drive a car is / can be challenging - You’re right . It’s difficult to drive car in traffic * Suggestions ( P / 140) a/ I think driving a car can be dangerous -I agree, but there won’t be a problem if you are careful -I think learning to drive a car is challenging - You are right, it’s difficult to drive in the streets especially at rush hours b/ - I don’t like reading comic books. They are so boring -Neither do I . I prefer reading fairy tales - Reading comic books is entertaining -Yes, but on the other hand it’s very time-consuming c/ Running and playing in the rain is much fun -I disagree with you because you can get cold in the rain for a long time d/ I think foreign food is delicious - So do I -I disagree . Foreign food can be unhealthy. 4. Post - speaking: StudentA: I think English is easy Student B : I disagree.
