I. OBJECTIVES:
Teaching aims: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to describe people’s appearance, complete the dialogue, develop speaking and listening skills.
II. PREPARATIONS: Book, cassette player and tape, pictures
III. PROCEDURES:

1. Warm – Up: (5’)
* Brainstorming: Ask Ss to think of the adjectives used to describe body build, hairstyle and hair color.

2. Pre – Speaking: (8’)
- Give some new words:
+ Slim (a)
+ Straight (a)
+ Curly (a)
+ Wavy (a)
+ Blond (a)
+ Fair (a)
- Have Ss practice the new words.
- Show a picture of Mary and ask Ss to describe her body build, her hairstyle and hair color.
She is short and thin
 She has blond hair
- Explain the structures: S + are / is + body-build adj. 
 S + have / has + adj + n.
* Have Ss pay attention to the adjective “bald”
 He is bald. (Not: He has bald hair)
3. While – Speaking: (15’)
- Ask Ss to practice the dialogue.
- Call some pairs to practice.
- Check.
- Ask Ss to describe a famous person or one of their classmates and the rest of the classes have to guess who he / she is.
- Ask Ss to describe their partners.
 Model: “Trang is small. She is young. She is very pretty. She has long black hair.”
4. Post – Speaking: (15’)
- Ask Ss to read the expressions in the box and make sure they know their meanings.

l It’s pleasure to meet you.
l I’d like you to meet ……
 l Come and meet…….
- Play the tape for Ss 3 times.
- Call some Ss to read the answers.

6. How do you do?
- Have Ss do exercise.
a. He / tall / thin.

5. Homework: (2’)
- Write a description about one of your family members.
- Prepare next lesson: Unit 1 – Read/ p.13, 14.
