I. OBJECTIVES 
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to gain:

 + Countable and uncountable nouns.

- Respect ethnic groups of Viet Nam and their culture

III. PROCEDURES 
1. WARM-UP (5 mins) 
a. Objectives: 
- To create an active atmosphere in the class before the lesson. 
- To lead into the new lesson. 
b. Content: 
- Game: Who is faster? 
c. Expected outcomes: 
- Ss can recall words related to ethnic groups in Viet Nam. 
d. Organisation

 ACTIVITIES 
 - Teacher divides Ss into 4 groups. Who is faster? 
 - Teacher gives each group a piece of paper. 
 - Teacher asks them to write as many words Suggested answers: 
 (nouns) related to ethnic groups of Viet Nam as gong, communal house, wooden 
 possible. statue, folk dance, musical 
 - Each group chooses one secretary to write the instrument, bamboo house, costume, 
 words that other members tell him/ her. five-colour sticky rice, stilt house, 
 - Ss play the game in 3 minutes. terraced field,... - Teacher asks each group to hand in their 
 papers and checks, the group with the most 
 correct words is the winner. Teacher invites the 
 winner to read aloud their words.

2. ACTIVITY 1: YES / NO AND WH-QUESTION (12 mins) 
a. Objectives: 
- To introduce new words related to the life of the ethnic people 
- To help students revise the form of Yes / No questions and the use of Wh-question 
words.

- Vocabulary 
- Task 1: Change the sentences into Yes / No questions. 
- Task 2: Choose the correct question word for each question below. 
c. Expected outcomes: 
- Ss know how to form Yes / No questions and the use of Wh-question words.

a. Objectives: 
- To help students identify countable and uncountable nouns and revise how to use a 
quantifier with a countable or uncountable noun. 
b. Content: 
- Task 3: Write C (countable) or U (uncountable) for the underlined words. 
- Task 4: Fill in each blank with a, much, many, a little, or a few. 
- Task 5: Work in groups. Think of six nouns related to each of the topics below, in 
which three nouns are countable and three nouns are uncountable. 
c. Expected outcomes: 
- Ss can identify countable and uncountable nouns and how to use a quantifier with a 
countable or uncountable noun.

 Task 3: Write C (countable) or U (uncountable) for the underlined words. (7 mins)
