- Devide Ps into small group, give each group one object and ask for Ps to drill.(Use the real their name)
 P1: Happy birthday, Mai.
 P2: How old are you?
 P3: I’m (eight) years old.
 P1+ P2: (give P3 the present)

Activity 1: Introduce the song
- T asks Ss to open their books and introduce the song “ today is Jenny’s birthday ”
- T asks Ss to look at the song and listen to the tape.
- T reads the song
- T asks Ss to read the song sentsnce by sentence
- T uses a hat abd put it on one student. The student stand ups and say: “It’s my birthday , today”
- Class: “It’s your birthday , today”

T sings the song ( h¸t mÉu kh«ng nh¹c )
T guides Ss to sing the song sentence by sentence
T opens the tape and ask Ss to sing after the tape ( 3 times )
Activity 2: Practice
Teacher devides class in to groups to sing “ Happy birthday song”
