 Unit 10: WHEN WILL SPORTS DAY BE?
 Lesson 1 (1, 2, 3)
A.OBJECTIVES
1. Knowledge:
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to: 
- use the words, phrases related to the topics School events and Future 
activities. 
- ask and answer questions about School events 
2. Competences:
- Problems solving and creation
- Communication and cooperation
- Self-learning, independent working and pair work, group work
- Linguistic competence 
3. Quality:
- Hardworking
- Responsible 
- Honest
4. Skills: Listening and speaking skills 
5. Vocabulary: Sport Day, Independence Day, contest.
6. Grammar point: When will...be? It’ll be on...
B. TEACHING AIDS
1. Teacher’s aids: Teacher’s book, chalk, board, ruler, projector, laptop and 
flashcards
2. Students’ aids: Students’ books, workbooks, noterbooks
C. PROCEDURES
* Warm up.
- Chatting.
* New lesson I. Presentation
- Have them look at the pictures and ask the questions: Who/Where/What 
- Play the recording for ss to listen and repeat a few time
- Do choral and individual repetition
- Ask Ss to role play the dialouge.
- Call some pairs to read aloud and others give comments
-T introduce new words: Sport Day, Independence Day, contest. Then ask ss to 
listen and repeat them.
- T introduce the sentence pattern: When will...be? It’ll be on...
II. Practice
1. Point and say.
- Model
- Have ss work in pairs.
- Monitor and help if necessary.
- Call some pairs to practise in front of the class and others give comments.
2. Let’s talk.
- Tell ss that they are going to practice more with their friends.
- Get pupils to work in pairs to interact.
- Call a few pairs to ask and answer in front of the class and others give 
comments.
III. Production.
- Tell ss that they are going to play “chain” game
- T guides the way
- Ss play game - others look and give comment

5. Vocabulary: against, sport ground, classmates.
