2. Pre - Writing (10’)
- Have Ss imagine they are visiting their relatives or friends in another part of VN or in a different country. Write a letter to your family. 
- Introduce the format of an informal letter:
+ First paragraph: opening
+ Second paragraph: body
+ Third paragraph: closing
 - Answer the following questions.
1. When did you arrive?
2. Who did you meet at the bus/ train station/ airport?
 paragraph 1
3. What have you done? visited?
4. Who have you met?
5. What food have you tried?
6. What things have you bought?
 Paragraph 
7. How do you feel during your staying there?
8. Say what interests you most.
9. When will you return home?
 Paragraph 3

3. While - Writing (15’)
- Base on the outline and answers, ask Ss to write out their paragraph. 
- Have Ss cross – check.
- Correct the mistakes.
 Dear Lan,
 I arrived at Hue Railway station at 7 am on Sunday. Uncle Hung took me home by motorbike.
I have visited the Imperial city Dong Ba Market , the biggest market in Hue. Yesterday Uncle Hung and I went to eat beef noodles and Com Hen. I enjoyed it very much. 
 I am so happy. People in Hue are very nice and friendly. I will leave Hue on Saturday. I am looking forward to meeting and telling you about the trip in Hue.

I. OBJECTIVES:
Teaching aims: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to make “wish” sentences with simple past and review past simple tense.

1. Warm – up: (5’)
Have Ss write verbs in the past for these following verbs.

2. Exercises (35’)
a. Exercise 1 (15’) The past simple tense: 
- Review structure:
S + V (ed/ 2)
* yesterday, last, ago
- Introduce the dialogue: “ These above are dialogues between two Ss talking about things Ba did last week “.
- Ask Ss to work in pairs and make similar dialogue about Nga, Lan, Hoa’s weekend . 
Ex: Nga 
A : What did Nga do on the weekend ? 
B : She went to a concert performed by Ha Noi singers.
A : When did she go to see it ?
B : She saw it on Saturday evening at 8 pm .
b. Exercise 2 (10’) The past simple tense: 
- Introduce: “ Lan and her friends are holding a farewell party for Maryam” . Write the things they did for the party. 
- Have Ss work in pair.
- Call some Ss to read the answers aloud.
- Correct the mistakes.

c. Exercise 3 (10’) Conditional sentence type 2 used with “Wish”:
- Introduce the conditional sentence type 2 with Wish : 
 S + wish(s, es) + S + V past simple

[ I wish I were younger . 
2. You are not taller.
[ I wish I were taller.
- Ask Ss to work with a partner and write the wishes with the situations in the lesson.
