Warm – Up: (8’) - Ask Ss to work in pair to match the words in the box and the pictures. 2. Presentation: (12’) - Have Ss to look at the pictures and introduce the characters in the dialogue: This is Nga. She is telephoning her friend, Hoa. She is asking Hoa to go to the movies at Sao Mai Theater. - Play the tape for Ss. - Give some new words and structure: + downstairs (n) + a bit far from: + Can speak to … , please? + Hold on. + Would you like to ……? + Let’s + V –inf …… + Is 6.30 all right? * The present continuous tense to express the future action. Ex: I’m using my cousin’s bike tonight (future action) 3. Practice: (15’) - Have Ss practice the dialogue. - Call some pairs to practice the dialogue in front of the class. - Ask Ss to look at the dialogue silently. - Ask Ss to answer the questions. a. II. PREPARATIONS: Book, cassette player and tape III. PROCEDURES: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities 1. Warm – Up: (5’) - Ask Ss to answer questions. a. Who are phoning each other? b. What are they phoning for? 2. Pre – Speaking: (8’) - Explain vocabulary: + concert (n) + band (n) + corner (n) - Ask Ss to put the sentences in the correct order . - Call some Ss to read the answers. - Call some Ss to practice the dialogue again. 3. While – Speaking: (15’) - Introduce the dialogue. a. Who makes the call? b. What does he make the call for? - Have Ss read the open dialogue to find Bao’s suitable responses. - Call some Ss to give the answers. - Check and correct the answers. ¯ Suggested answers: + May I speak to Ba, please?
