 LESSON 1: 1-2(page:6)
 STAGE 1: DESIRED OBJECTIVES/ OUTCOMES
A. OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: (Cognition, Skill, Attribute, 
and Competence)
1.identify the situation for the conversation between Phong and his mother( 
setting, participants, topics);
2. ask and answer about time, using the sentence patterns “ What time is it? It 
is ..”
3. show interest in what they do by using appropriate gestures and intonation 
when talk about time

Vocabulary:
(breakfast, lunch, dinner), go to school, go to bed, get up
Key grammatical structures:The sentence patterns: What time is it? - It’s seven 
o’clock.

 STAGE 3:LEARNING EXPERIENCES / LEARNING PLAN
Warmer: Greeting and songs: - Greet the students. Then get the class to listen and 
sing the song”What Time Is It? “Song for Kids 
Elicit the activities which are mentioned in the song. 
- Tell students that they are going to read a dialogue in which students talk about their 
interest, ask and answer questions about what time and lead students to the new 
lesson.
Activity 1: Language input (Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat.)
- Ask students to look at the four pictures (page 6) and answer questions to identify 
the situation for the conversation.
 1. Who are they? (Phong and his mother
 2. Where are they? In the bedroom
 3. What are they doing? 
- Ask students to look at picture d (Activity 1) (page 6) and answer the following 
questions: 
 4. What does Phong ask? (What time is it?)
 5. What does his mother answer? (It is seven o’clock.)
- Elicit the sentence patterns: What time is it?- It is seven o’clock.
- Tell students that they are going to practise asking and answering questions about 
time
- Play the recording more than once, if necessary, ask students to listen and repeat the 
dialogue 
- Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking. - Play the recording again for students to listen and repeat. 
Activity 2: Controlled & guided practice
Task 1: Controlled practice (Activity 2: Point and say.)
- Use pictures to elicit: breakfast, lunch, dinner), go to school, go to bed, get up
- Point to the first picture and model the task with one student, using the expressions 
in the bubbles and the word under the picture. 
 Teacher: What time is it? Student: It is seven
- Ask students to say the phrases chorally and individually. Repeat the same 
procedure with the rest of the pictures. 
- Ask students to practice in pairs, using the prompts in the bubbles and the pictures. 
- Call on some pairs to role-play the dialogue in front of the class. Monitor the activity 
and offer help, if necessary. 
Task 2: Guided practice (information gap activity) Tell your partners what time is 
it
- Have students choose a clock and tell their classmates using “What time is it?- It is 
 .
- Ask them to interview 3 or 4 friends: one student asks the question and the other 
answers with facts about themselves and then exchange the roles.
- Monitor the activity and offer help if necessary. 
- Call on some groups of students to role-play in front of the class. 
Activity 3: Wrap-up & Assignments
- Ask students to answer the following questions: 
 1. What have you learnt from the lesson today? (talk about our interest and use the 
sentence pattern “What time is it?- It is ..to ask and answer about others’ interest)
 2. What’re the core values of the lesson? (showinterest of things we like doing and 
respect other people’ interest.)
- Remind students to do exercises in the workbook ,complete Lesson 1(3,4,5) and to 
prepare for the next lesson 2 (1,2,3 on page 8).

A. OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
1. identify the situation for the conversation between Tom and Linda(setting, 
participants, topics);
2. interview about routines, using the sentence patterns “What time do you ? I 
 at”;
3. show pride about routines, and great respect for other people’ hobbies by using 
appropriate gestures and intonation when asking and answering about hobby

procedure with the rest of the pictures. 
- Ask students to practice in pairs, using the prompts in the bubbles and the pictures. 
- Call on some pairs to role-play the dialogue in front of the class. Monitor the activity 
and offer help, if necessary. 
Task 2: less controlled.Ask and answer questions about the other speaker’s 
hobby.
- Show some pictures about activities in the countryside 
- Have students choose activities that they can do and tell their classmates using What 
time do you .?-(I at .)
