WEEK 11 Date of planning:21/11/2021 Date of teaching: 24/11/2021 UNIT 10: WHERE WERE YOU YESTERDAY? Lesson 1 (1, 2) I. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Pupils can ask and answer questions about where the other speaker was the day before. - Sentence Patterns: Where were you yesterday? − I was ___. - Vocabulary: at home, at the zoo, on the beach, in the school library 2. Skills: - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality: - Love English - United friend 4. Forming competence: - To know talk about where they were. - Practise in pairs II. Methods: Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities, play as a character, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practising, discussion group, technical present.... III. Preparation. 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, cassette, projector 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. IV. Procedures. A .Warm-up Game: Shark attack Y E S T E R D A Y - Give feedback. - Lead in the new lesson. B. New lesson 1. Look, listen and repeat. - Run through and set the sense. - Give instruction. - Play the recording all the way through. - Replay the recording for sts listen and repeat. - Divide class into 4 groups to read the dialogue and ask them to play roles. - Ask sts to do further practice in groups of 4. - Check to make sure that sts can repeat and understand the dialogues(provide some words: at home, at the zoo, on the beach) 2. Point and say - Ask sts to look at the pictures a, b, c and d. - Run through some words: swimming, cooking, colecting stamps, playing chess. - Use handmade puppets to teach: Where were you yesterday? I was at home. - Model the structure: T-sts; sts-T; S1-S2 - Have sts to look at the pictures and do the task in pairs then practise freely. - Move around to offer help. - Call on some pairs to perform the task. C. Reinforcement - Call sts to tell about where they were yesterday with their friends. - Comment. D. HOME-LINK - Practise asking and answer questions about what where the other speaker was the day before. - Learn by heart new vocab. - Do part 3, 4, 5 lesson 1 in Student’s book. - Prepare new lesson. Lesson 2 (1, 2, 3) I. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Ask and answer questions about what someone did in the past. - Sentence Patterns: What did you do yesterday? − I ___. - Vocabulary: played badminton, painted a picture, watered the flowers 2. Skills: - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality: - Love their class - United friend 4. Forming competence: - To know talk about their class - Practise in pairs II. Methods: Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities, play as a character, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practising, discussion group, technical present.... III. Preparation. 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, cassette, projector 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. IV. Procedures. A .Warm-up : - Ask sts to sing the song “ Where were you yesterday?”. - Lead in the new lesson. B. New Lesson: 1. Look, listen and repeat - Ask sts to look at the pictures then run through and set the scene. - Give instruction. - Open the cassette all the way through. - Ask sts to listen again and repeat the dialogue. - Divide the class into 2 groups and ask them to play a role. - Have sts to do further practice in pairs. - Give feedback. - Provide some new words for sts to make a sense of the dialogue: help, visit. - Elicit the sentence pattern from sts:Where did you do yesterday? I played badminton. - Give examples. 2. Practice - Ask sts to turn to part 2 and look at the pictures. - Run through then give instruction. - Make model the pattern: T – St; St – T; S1 – S2. - Let sts practise in pairs with the given information, then practise freely by themselves. - Move around to offer help. - Call on some pairs to report. - Comment. C. Reinforcement - Give feedback. III. Production. - The whole class play “Lucky number” game - T guide ss play game – ss play game D. HOME-LINK - Practise asking and answer questions about what someone did in the past. - Learn by heart new vocab. - Do part 4, 5, 6 lesson 2 and part 1,2,3,4,5,6 lesson 3 in student’s book - Prepare new lesson.
