OBJECTIVES - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Ask and answer questions about one's action in progress. - Sentence Patterns:What are you doing? ̶ I’m _____. - Vocabulary:reading, cooking, listening to music, cleaning the floor 2. Skills: - Develop Ss listening and speaking 3. Attitudes/ Quality: - Ss help their parents to do housework - Complete the homework before class. 4. Forming competence: - Using language to talk about one’s action in progress. - Practice with their partners. B. LANGUAGE FOCUS Vocabulary reading, cooking, listening to music, cleaning the floor Key grammatical structure The sentence patterns: What are you doing? ̶ I’m _____. C. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES. - Textbook: Tiếng Anh 3, sach mem.vn , student’s book page 52. - 4 pictures of activities (Activity 2 – page 52) - Situational pictures and character cards - Acomputer and a projector. Activity 1:Look, listen and repeat. - Have ss open their book on page 52. - Tell them that they are going to practice asking and answering questions indoor activities. - Give a few seconds for ss to look at the pictures and elicit what the characters are saying. - Use a poster to present the situation. - Play the tape. - Play the tape again. - Call on 2 pairs to perform at the front of the class. - Have whole class repeat each line of the dialogue in chorus. - Introduce new word by using pictures: reading, cooking, listening to music, cleaning the floor. - Ask ss to listen and repeat. - Call ss to read aloud the new words Activity 2: full controlled & less controlled Task 1: Point and say - Tell ss that they are going to practise saying sentences with: A: What are you doing? B: I’m ... - Ask Ss fill in the speech bubbles. - Ask Ss to repeat. - Ask Ss to practice in pairs asking and answering, using the pictures in Student Book. - Monitor the activity. - Call on a pair to perform. Task 2: Let’s talk - Tell ss that they are going to practice more with their friends. - Give a few seconds for ss to look at the pictures. - Elicit the words to fill the gap. - Write the instructions on the board and get ss to repeat them a few times. - Get ss to work in pairs. - Go around the class and help when ss necessary. Activity 3: Wrap-up & Assignments - Ask students to answer the following questions: 1. What have you learnt from the lesson today? - Ask and answer questions about one's action in progress, using :What are you doing? ̶ I’m _____. 2. What’re the core values of the lesson? - Using language to talk about one’s action in progress. - Remind students to learn new words and structure by heart. - Prepare for the next lesson (Unit 18, Lesson 2 (1-3).). Skills. - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality: - Ss help their parents to do housework. - Complete the homework before class. 4. Forming competence: - Ss know ask and answer the question about someone’s action in progress with their partners. - Be active participate in activities. B. Activity 2: full controlled & less controlled Task 1: Point and say - Have pupils look at each the picture. - Ask pupils to identify activities. - Use the first picture as an example and put the question and answer on the board. - Have Ss repeat the phrases a few times. - Ask Ss to practice in pairs. - Monitor the activity. - Call on some pairs (4-5 pairs) to perform the task at the front of the class. - Observe and give comments. - Have the whole class repeat all the dialogue. Task 2: Let’s talk - Have Ss look at the pictures on page 54. - Tell ss that they are going to practice more with their friends. - Point to the first picture and ask Ss to guess what they say. - Ask Ss fill the speech bubbles. - Have Ss repeat the sentences in the bubbles. - Ask ss to work in pairs. - Monitor the activity. - Call a few pairs to the front of the class to act out the dialogue. Activity 3: Wrap-up & Assignments - Ask students to answer the following questions: 1.
