WEEK 22 Date of planning: 20/2/2022 Date of teaching: 22/2/2022 UNIT 16: DO YOU HAVE ANY PET? Lesson 1: 1,2,3 STAGE 1: DESIRED OBJECTIVES A. OBJECTIVES - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Ask and answer questions about whether the other speaker has any pets. - Sentence Patterns: Do you have any ______? ̶ Yes, I do. / No, I don’t. - Vocabulary: cats, yes / parrots, yes / rabbits, no / goldfish, no 2. Skills: - Develop listening and speaking 3. Attitudes/ Quality: - Ss confident in communicate with their friends. - Ss love their pets. 4. Forming competence: - Ss know ask and answer question about pets. - Practice with their friends. II. Methods: - Approach, group Ss and T's activities, play as a character, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practising, discussion group, technical present.... III. Preparation. 1. Teacher’s preparation: CDs player, stereo, book. 2. Student’s preparation: Students’ aids: books, notebooks, workbooks. IV. Procedures. A. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES. - Textbook: Tiếng Anh 3, Student’s book page 26. - 4 pictures of activities (Activity 2 – page 26) - Situational pictures and character cards - a computer and a projector. Activity 1 Task 1: Look, listen and repeat. - Have pupils turn to page 40. - Tell them that they are going to talk about the toys they have, using do you have any pets? - Give a few seconds for ss to look at the first picture and elicit what the characters are saying. - Use a poster to present the situation. - Play the tape. - Play the tape again. - Call on 2 pairs to perform at the front of the class. - Have whole class repeat each line of the dialogue in chorus. - Introduce new word by using pictures: cats, parrots, rabbits, goldfish - Ask ss to listen and repeat. - Call ss to read aloud the new words C. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES. Activity 2: full controlled & less controlled Task 2: Point and say - Tell ss that they are going to practise saying sentences with: A: Do you have any ..? B: Yes, I do./ No, I don’t. - Ask Ss fill in the speech bubbles. - Ask Ss to repeat. - Ask Ss to practice in pairs asking and answering, using the pictures in Student Book. A: Do you have any ..? - Monitor the activity. - Call on a pair to perform. Task 2: Let’s talk -Have Ss look at the pictures on page 26. -Tell Ss that they are going to practice more with their friends. -Point to the first picture and ask Ss to guess what they say. -Ask Ss fill the speech bubbles. -Have Ss repeat the sentences in the bubbles. -Ask ss to work in pairs. -Monitor the activity. - Call on some groups of students to role-play in front of the class. - Correct their pronunciation. Activity 3: Wrap-up & Assignments - Ask students to answer the following questions: 1. What have you learnt from the lesson today? - Ask and answer questions about about things in the room, using Are there any . in the room? Yes, there are. / No, there aren’t. 2. What’re the core values of the lesson? Show respect and love their things in the house by using appropriate gestures and intonation when ask and answer questions about house facilities. - Remind students to learn new words and structure by heart. - Guide Ss to study at home unit 16 lesson 1. Part 4,5,6 + L3:4 -6. - Prepare for the next lesson (Unit 16, Lesson 2: 1-3). D. Task 2: Let’s talk - Have Ss look at the pictures on page 42. - Tell ss that they are going to practice more with their friends. - Point to the first picture and ask Ss to guess what they say. - Ask Ss fill the speech bubbles. - Have Ss repeat the sentences in the bubbles. - Ask ss to work in pairs. - Monitor the activity. - Call a few pairs to the front of the class to act out the dialogue. Activity 3: Wrap-up & Assignments - Ask students to answer the following questions: 1.
