I. Overview.

II. Procedures.
1/ Warm up:
- Introduce myself.
2/ New lesson:
- CD, cassette, book. IV. Teaching methods. - Communicative approach. - Techniques: Ask and answer Work in pairs and individually. Work in groups, discuss. V. Procedures. Teacher and students’ activities Contents I. Warm up. (1’) - Greeting. - Ss sing the Hello song. II. Check up. (5’) - Ask three Ss to greet and repond to greet in last period. III. New lesson. 4. Listen and number. a. Pre – listening. (3’) - Ask Ss to look at the picture. - Help them to identify each picture. - Tell them that they are going to listen to the recording & number the correct pictures. b. While – listening. (5’) - Play the recording through for Ss listen. - Play the recording again for SS to do the task. - Play the recording once more and pause after each sentence to check. - Ask Ss to exchange their answers with their partners before reporting them to the class. c. Post – listening. (2’) - Ss listen again and check their answers. - Ask some questions to ensure Ss’ comprehension of the listening text. 5. Read and complete. a. Pre – reading. (2’) - Tell them that they are going to read the text & complete the table. - Ask Ss to look at the table first & discuss the information they need to fill in. b. While – reading. (4’) - Ss read the text & do the task individually. - Ask Ss to exchange their answers with their partners to discuss possible answers. - Ask Ss to report their answers to the class. c. Post – reading. (2’) - Ask some questions to ensure Ss’ comprehension of the text. - Ss read aloud the text to the class. 6. Let’s write. a. Pre – writing. (2’) - Tell them that they are going to complete write a simple paragraph about greeting and responding to greeting. b. While – writing. (4’) - Get Ss to write their own answers, filling in the blank spaces with their own information. - Ss work individually. - Call on some Ss to write out their answers to the class. c. Post – writing. (2’) - Make somes questions to ensure Ss’ comprehension of the writing text. IV. Consolidation. (2’) - Recall the contents. - Say again the way to greet and repond to greet. V. Home link. (2’) - Help them to identify the school subjects in each picture. - Tell them that they are going to listen to the recording & write the correct words. b. While – listening. (4’) - Play the recording through for Ss listen. - Play the recording again for SS to do the task. - Play the recording once more and pause after each sentence to check. - Ask Ss to exchange their answers with their partners before reporting them to the class. c. Post – listening. (2’) - Ss listen and check answers - Ask some questions to ensure Ss’ comprehension of the listening text. 3. Let’s chant. Have Ss trade their answers in groups for correction. - Call some Ss to report their answers. The rest of the class listen and give comments. - Make a few question to check Ss comprehension of the sentences. - Ask the whole class to read each sentence in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation. 6. Project. (8’) - Tell them that they are going to give the project. - Explain how the project is wrote. Divide Ss into groups of 5. - Call on some groups to present their name card in front of the class. Others observe & give comments. IV. Consolidation. (2’) - Recall the contents. V. Home link. And this is Nam. - Tell Ss that they are going to listen to the recording & repeat the dialogue between Mai & Nam. - Play the CD & Ss listen. - Play the CD again, pausing after each line for SS to repeat. - Divide class into two groups. G1 is Mai. G2 is Nam. - Play the CD again for the whole class to repeat. - Picture B: Two Ss are asking and answering about Mai’s name.This is Mai. And this is Linda. - Ask Ss practice the same picture A. * Teach the sentence patterns. - Ask Ss give the word to greet and say about their name. - Guide to read and explain the sentences. 2. Point and say. (6’) - Ask Ss to look at picture. Tell them that they are going to practice saying the sentence pattern in pairs: - Do the task with one Ss as a model. - Ss work in pairs, using model sentences and the words in each picture as a cue. - Call on some pairs to perform the task in front of the class. 3. Let’s talk. (6’) - Ask Ss to look at picture. Tell them that they are going to practice saying the sentence pattern in groups: - Call on some groups to perform the task in front of the class. - Ask Ss to practice in groups to greet and self-introduction about themself. - Call on some groups to present.
