I. OBJECTIVES: 
- By the end of the lesson , Ss will be able to talk about the traditional Vietnamse cothing, “Ao dai”.

1 / Warm-up : (8’)
Guessing game
- Have Ss look at some tranditional clothes and say the name of the coutries.
- Lead to the new lesson: “the traditional dress in Viet Nam, ao dai”. 
- Look at the pictures and say.

- Listen.
2/ Presentation: (15’)
$ Activity 1:
- Ask Ss to look at the picture and answer the questions.
 1 Who often wear Ao dai?
 2 Do men wear Ao dai?When?
 3 Is Ao dai now different from the one in the past?
$ Activity 2:
Pre-teach vocabulary
- Use pictures to introduce the words.
I. New words:
1. traditional (a): truyền thống 
2. pattern (n): kiểu	 
3. material(n): chất liệu 
4. inspiration(n): cảm hứng 	 
5. prefer (v): thích hơn 
6. unique (a): duy nhất 
- Check vocabulary: R.O.R
- Observe, and answer.
- Look at the pictures and guess meaning.
- Do as T’s direction.
3/ Practice: (15’)
$ Activity 1:
- Have Ss listen to the text twice.
- Have Ss read the text and complete the sentences
1. poems,novels,and songs
2. a long silk tunic with slits up the sides worn over loose pants
3. to wear modern clothing at work
4. lines of poetry on it
5. symbols:sun,stars,crosses and stripes
- Call Ss to check
$ Activity 2:
- Have Ss read the text again and answer the questions(p14).

2 Because it is convenient
3 They’ve printed lines of poetry on it or have added symbols
- Listen carefully.
- Work in pair.
- Present result.

4/ Production: (5’)
- Have Ss talk with their partner about a question:
Do you like wearing Ao dai?Why ?(Why not?)
- Work in pair.
5/ Homework: (2’)
- Have Ss:
+ Rewrite the answer in notebook.
+ Prepare “Speak”.
- Write assignments.

- Use the pictures(p14.15) to introduce some clothes.
- Observe.
2/ Pre-speaking: (15’)
$ Activity 1: 
- Elicit new words.

- Have Ss practice the phrases.
- Pay attention.
- Look at the pictures and guess the meaning.
- Take note.
- Practice the newwords.

- Have Ss complete the table.
