I/ Objectives:
-Knowledge: Know how to use Yes or No question to identify the objects in singular form.
-Skills: listening , speaking
-Structurers: -  Is this / that  a pen? Yes, it is.
                      No, it isn't.   
II/ Teaching aids: 
-T: Textbooks,  tape player, cassette, puppets, Teacher cards, classroom objects 
-Ss: book, note book.
III/ Activities for teaching and learning:
1/ Settlement:
2/ Oral test : 
- Use 2 questions ( What’s this ?, What’s that ? )  to ask and answer about classroom objects from distance and near. 
3/ New lesson:
Teacher’s activities
Students’ activities
Activity 1: Present the Yes or No question 
* Model sentences 
-  Is this   a pen? Yes, it is.
       that                No, it isn't.   
- Hold up  classroom objects  ( a pen, a pencil, a notebook...) to review the question and answer pattern with"this"
( Is this a/ an ......... ? )
- Point to objects from a distance to model the question and answer pattern with “that”  ( Is that a/ an ...........?) 
- Write the model+ explain ( meaning, use, intonation )
Activity 2: Practice   
*  Picture - cue drill.( stick pictures around class )
- Model with students
- Go around the class to check their work
- Call some pairs to speak out before class.
* Listening : Guess the answer
-Play the cassette , stop after each question.
- Check their answer by playing the cassette again.
Activity 3: Further Practice
Play guessing game
- Using students'classroom objects, put them in a box to ask and answer , using both questions ( Is this/ that a/an ..............?)
- Model with one student.
- Look and help if nessessary.
