WEEK 2 Date of planning: 20/9/2021 Date of teaching: 22/9/2021 Unit 1: Nice to see you again Lesson 1(1+2) I. Objectives. - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Greet and respond to greetings formally. - Sentence Patterns: Good ____. - Vocabulary: Mr Loc, Ms Hien, Mai, Nam, Phong Good morning. / Good afternoon. / Good evening. 2. Skills. - Listening and speaking. 3. Ability/Quality: - Learn hard - Confident in learning and practice situations 4. Forming competence: - Self-study ability - Use language to read and write about their school and lessons II. Teaching aids: - CDs player, stereo, book. III. Methods: - Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities, play as a character, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practising, discussion group, technical present.... IV. Procedures *Warm up: Greet the class by saying Hello/Hi. How are you? Ask students to respond with Hello/Hi. I’m fine. Thank you. A. Presentation Activity 1. Look, listen and repeat - Look at the four pictures - Listen to the recording a few times - Listen and repeat line by line B. Practice Activity 2. Point and say - Learn some new words - Model sentence - Get students to work in pair. - Call a few pairs act out the dialogue. Check as a class C.Production Let’s sing. “Hello, how are you?” - Ask Ss to do Ex A, B at home. D. HOME-LINK - Learn new words and structure by heart. - Guide to study at home unit 1 lesson 1: Part 3,4,5. - Prepare unit 2.lesson 2 : (1- 3). E.FEEDBACK ......... ************************************** WEEK 2 Date of planning: 20/9/2021 Date of teaching: 24/9/2021 Unit 1: Nice to see you again Lesson 2 (1-2-3) I. Objectives. - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Know the way to say and respond goodbye. - Sentence Patterns: Goodbye. See you tomorrow. / Goodbye. See you later. / Good night. - Vocabulary: see you tomorrow, see you later, good night 2. Skills. - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality: - To teach Ss to work hard, love their friends. - Be polite. 4. Forming competence: - Co- operation - Self- study - Ss know how to greet and introduce themselves. II. Teaching aids: - CDs player, stereo, book. III. Methods: - Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities, play as a character, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practising, discussion group, technical present... IV. Procedures *Warm up: play game “Bingo” - Tell Ss: there are six words in the grid: (good morning, good afternoon. Good evening, goodbye and hello) - Ask Ss to copy the grid down to their notebooks and select six words at random to put them in the boxes. - Call out the words until there is a pupil getting three words on a straight line crossed out and calling Bingo! He or She is the winner. A. Presentation 1. Look, listen and repeat. - look the dialogue then listen and repeat following the recording, know some vocabs : pupil, meet, tomorrow, see - Have them look at the pictures and ask the questions: Who/Where/What -T introduce new words then ss listen and repeat them - Play the recording for ss to listen and repeat a few time - Do choral and individual repetition - Call some pairs to read aloud and others give comments B. Practice 2. Point and say. -ss known to talk when say bye good bye, bye, good night. See you later / again / tomorrow. -T introduce the sentence pattern and new words: good bye, bye, good night. See you later / again / tomorrow. - Have ss repeat them a few times. - Have ss work in pairs: using the sentence pattern to ask and answer about health - Call some pairs to practise in front of the class and others give comments. C. Production. 3. Let’s talk. - Practice talking when say bye - Tell ss that they are going to practice more with their friends. -Ss help ss to memory new words and sentence pattern - Get pupils to work in pairs to interact - Call a few pairs to act out the greetings and responses in front of the class and others give comments. - The whole class Play “ Shout name” game -T guide ss play game – ss play game. D. HOME-LINK - Learn new words by heart - Self-study lesson 2 (4,5,6) & lesson 3( 1,2,3 +4,5,6) at home. - Do exercises in Student’s book. E.
