 Unit 6: Stand up!
 Lesson 1 (1, 2, 3)
A. OBJECTIVES
1. Knowledge:
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to ask and answer questions 
about giving and responding to classroom instructions.
2. Competences:
- Problems solving and creation
- Communication and cooperation
- Self-learning, independent working and pair work, group work
- Linguistic competence 
3. Quality:
- Hardworking
- Responsible 
- Honest
4. Skills: Listening and speaking skills 
5. Vocabulary: stand up, sit down, come, here, open, close, can, go out, come 
in.
6. Grammar point: stand up, sit down.
B. TEACHING AIDS
1. Teacher’s aids: Teacher’s book, chalk, board, ruler, projector/TV, laptop and 
flashcards, balls 
2. Students’ aids: Students’ books, workbooks, noterbooks
C. PROCEDURES
* Warm up.
-The whole class sing “What’s your name ?” song
* New lesson
I. Presentation 
 - Have them look at the pictures and ask the questions: Who/Where/What - T introduce new words then ss listen and repeat them
- Play the recording for ss to listen and repeat a few time
- Do choral and individual repetition
- Call some pairs to read aloud and others give comments
- T introduce the sentence pattern and new words: stand up, sit down.
- Have ss repeat them a few times. 
II. Practice
1. Point and say.
- Have ss work in pairs: to ask and answer questions about giving and 
responding to classroom instructions 
- Call some pairs to practise in front of the class and others give comments.
2. Let’s talk.
- Tell ss that they are going to practice more with their friends.
- Get pupils to work in pairs to interact.
- Call a few pairs to act out introducing and responsing in front of the class and 
others give comments.
III. Production.
-Tell ss that they are going to play game “Saymon says”
– T model and ss look then play game.
D. HOME-LINK
- Practise asking and answer questions about one’s name.
- Do part 4, 5, 6 page 37 in Student’s book.

- Self-learning, independent working and pair work, group work
- Linguistic competence

4. Skills: Listening and speaking skills 
5. Vocabulary: stand up, sit down, come, here, open, close, can, go out, come 
in.
6. Grammar point: May I sit down? 
 Yes, you can./ No, you can’t.
