 UNIT 1: FEELINGS
 Lesson 3: A-C
I. OBJECTIVES:
 After completing this lesson, Ss will be able to gain the following:
1. Knowledge
- Vocabulary: scared, bored, hungry, thirsty 
- Structures:(Minh)'s (thirsty).
2. Language skills: Talk about how other people feel.
3. Core competencies & Personal qualities

- Responsible

II. TEACHING AIDS:
- Teacher’s aids: student book and teacher’s book, class CDs, flashcards, IWB 
software, projector.
- Students’ aids: Student books, notebooks, workbooks.
III. PROCEDURES:
Warm-up (5’)
- Play “Who is faster?” game + Divide the class into groups. 
+ Arrange the flashcards on the board. (nut, nose, orange, octopus)
+ Invite a student from each group to go to the board. 
+ Teacher says a word and the students run to tap the right card.
I. Presentation
1. Teach vocabulary (5’)
- Mime to introduce the new words (scared, bored, hungry, thirsty). 
- Have students listen to each new word.
- Show the pictures of the part A on the projector and ask students to open the books.
- Play audio, and point to each flashcard for students to listen (CD2 - Track 42)
- Play audio again and have students point to the pictures in their books.
- Play audio again and have students listen and repeat. 
- Have students work in pairs, one of them points to the picture in the book and the 
other says the word. 
- Call some pairs to the board and check.
- Organize for students to play the game "Heads up. What's missing?" game
- Divide the class into two teams.
- Arrange the flashcards on the board and remove one card when students are not 
looking.
- One student from each team calls out the missing flashcard.
2. Dialogue (5’)
- Have students look at the pictures, identify them and call out the names they can 
see. Ask some questions about the pictures.
- Introduce the photos of Long, Nhi, Vy and Trang and ask students to listen to the 
story. (CD2 – Track 43)
- Play audio and have students listen and repeat. 
- Divide the class into 2 groups, groups swap characters’roles 
- Invite an open-pair to read aloud ( model)
- Ask students to work in pairs to read the dialogue - Give help if necessary
- Call a few pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class
- Gives feedback.
3. Form (2’)
Elicit the sentence pattern: 
 Long’s bored
Form: ...............’s .......
II. Practice (7’)
- Have students look at the useful language box.
- Play audio. Have students listen to the useful language.
- Have students practice the useful language
- Have Ss say about their emotion.
III. Production
1. Play the "Pretend" game (5’)
- Have students look at the example.
- Have one student come to the front of the class.
- Have that student show an emotion silently.
- Have the other students try to guess the emotion.
- Have students swap roles and repeat. 
2. Play game: Running dictation (5’)
- Stick some pictures ( happy, sad, angry, scared ) on the walls in the class.
- Have students work in pairs. One runs and find the pictures around him/ her, then 
turn back to his pair and tell what he/ she has seen. E. g. happy His/ Her friend writes 
down the word he/ she has heard. 
IV. HOMELINK (1’)
- Practise saying the emotion more at home
- Learn by heart vocab
- Self-study part D-E at home.
- Prepare new lesson. V. FEEDBACK:
