Activity 1: The importance of English
- In groups of 4, Ss discuss the importance of English.
Activity 2: Classroom rules
- Teacher says about the classroom rules in Vietnamese.

- Practise in English.
- Join to activities during the lesson.
2. At home.
- Learn by heart vocabulary, grammar and write examples.
- Read the dialogue.

Activity 3: Classroom commands Teacher use TPR – Ss look, listen and act Stand up, sit down, open the book, close the book, come in, go out, come here, come back to (turn) your seat, look, listen, repeat, read, write, sing. IV/ Consolidation:(3`) Game: Simon says Teacher explains the rules of the game and makes sure Ss understand that they must hear “Simon says” to perform the action. If not, they should do nothing. Period 2 Introduction the book A-The aims and objectives: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to understand well about the book : Tiếng anh 3 and some charactors in the book. B- Preparations: 1/ Teacher: Text book, lesson plan, ... 2/ Students: Textbooks, notebooks, reference books... C- Procedures: I/ Organization: (2`) - Greeting - Checking attendance II/ Warm-up: (5`) Game Slap the board with the classroom commands III/ New lesson: (25`) Activity 1: Introduce the book Teachers asks and Ss look at the book, answer the questions. ( in Vietnamses) How many units are there? How many lessons are there in one unit? How many reviews are there? How many stories are there ? What page can you see the book map? What page can you see the glossary? Where can you see the charactors in the book? Where can you find the CD? Activity 2: Introduce the main charactors Teacher introduces the name of the charactors one by one. Ss look, listen and repeat. Ss practise saying the name of the charactors. IV/ Consolidation:(3`) Some Ss introduce the book. Period 3 UNIT 1 HELLO Lesson 1 (1.2.3) I. Objectives: By the end of this lesson, students will be able to greet others and self-introduce, using Hello/Hi. I’m + name. II. Languages focus + Hello. I’m Mai. Nice to meet you. III. Resources: book, cassette recorder. IV. Procedures: A. Warm up : Teacher 's activities Students' activities Say hello to the class and introduce yourself, using Hello, I’m Thuy. Lead in the new lesson: Unit 1 - Lesson1(1.2.3) Greet and self-introduce Listen and write the title B. New lesson: 1. Look, listen and repeat: Teacher 's activities Students' activities Ask Ss to open their book on page 6. Ask Sts the name of the characters Use a poster to present the context Play the recording twice Ask Ss to repeat a few times Call on two pairs to play roles Ask Ss to practice in pairs Call some pair to perform Have the whole class repeat all the phrases a few times to reinforce their pronunciation. Teach the new words: + hello / hi + I’m = I am + nice to meet you * Note: + Hi is very informal. Sts can use with friends but not with an adult + Hello is also informal and friendly but more formal than Hi. It can be used with teachers and other adults. Open the book. Be ready Unit 1 – Lesson 1(4.5.6) Period 4 UNIT 1 HELLO Lesson 1 (4.5.6) I. Objectives: Students practise listening and writing about the topic introduction. II. Languages focus + Hello. I’m Mai. Nice to meet you. III. Resources: book, cassette recorder. IV. Procedures: A. Warm up : Revising Hello/Hi. I’m + name. Get individuals or pairs to act out the greetings and responses in front of the class. B. New lesson: 4. Listen and tick. Teacher 's activities Students' activities Have Ss open the book page 7, and describe the pictures. Set the scene: “you are going to listen to the recording, match the information and tick the correct picture.” 1st:Play the recording all the way through for Ss to listen while they are looking the pictures in their books 2nd: play the recording for Ss to listen and tick the correct pictures. Have Ss trade their answers in pairs for correction 3rd: play the recording for Ss to check their answers. Give feedback 1a, 2b - Ask some questions to ensure Ss’ comprehension of the listening text.
