Procedures: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Class organization Old lesson Play game “ slap the board”+ good morning + good afternoon + good evening + good night + goodbye Ask Ss to the board , listen and play Comment New lesson Lead in the new lesson: Unit 1 – Lesson 1(3.4) * Talk Ask Ss to look at 4 pictures on page 7 and describe them Point to picture a, ask Ss what the people should say to greet Ask Ss to fill the speech bubbles with the correct phrase A: Good____, _____. B: Good____, _____. Have them repeat a few times Ask them practice in pairs freely Call some pairs to perform, others comment Correct the mistake Have the whole class repeat all the phrases to reinforce their pronunciation. * Listen and tick Have Ss look and describe 4pictures on page 7 Sets the scene: “you are going to listen about some formal greetings and tick the correct picture”. Plays the recording all the way through for Ss to listen while they are doing the task. Ask Ss trade their answers for correction Call on some Ss to say the correct answer. Others listen and give their comments. Have the whole class recite greetings to reinforce their pronunciation. Correct and give feedback : 1b; 2b Reinforcement In this lesson, Ss have learnt how to talk and listen to some formal greetings. Educate Ss how to greet formally. Procedures: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Class organization Old lesson: “ Ring the gold bell” Ask Ss to use their mini board to review the new words Read aloud some greetings + good morning + good afternoon + good evening + good night + goodbye Ask Ss to listen and write on their board quickly Ring the bell and ask Ss to raise the boards Comment and correct the mistakes New lesson Lead in the new lesson: Unit 1 –Lesson 2(1.2) * Listen and repeat Have Ss open the book page 8, look at 2 words morning and afternoon and notice the letters colored differently in both words. Set the scene: “you are going to learn how to produce the sound of the letters ng and n in some words.” Produce the sound a few times. Play the recording all the way through for Ss to listen while they are reading the chant in their books Call on a pair : one of them to repeat each line of the chant, other three clap the syllables Have Ss practice the chant in pairs and clap the syllables. Call on some pairs to recite the chant. Have the whole class recite the chant to reinforce their pronunciation. * Listen and number. Have Ss look at and describe 4 pictures a,b,c and d on page 8 Set the scene: “you are going to listen to the recording, match the information they hear to the pictures and number”. 1st:Play the recording all the way through for Ss to listen while they are looking the pictures in their books 2nd: play the recording for Ss to listen and number the correct pictures. Have Ss trade their answers in pairs for correction 3rd: play the recording for Ss to check their answers. Play the recording again for Ss to repeat each line of the dialogue. Explain the new word: bored Ask Ss to repeat the dialogue and swap Have Ss practice the dialogue in pairs Call some pairs to perform. Call others comment. Correct the mistakes. * Look and say Have Ss look at all pictures on page 10 Pre-teach some new words:+ bored + ok+ well + happy+ tired Set the scene: “you are going to practice asking and answering about health.” Point to the picture a and give the model + How are you? + _____________. Ask Ss to fill the bubbles and repeat the step with other pictures. Have Ss repeat each line in the bubbles Have Ss practice in pairs. Go around and correct the mistakes. Call on some pairs to ask and answer. Ask someone to comment. Ask the whole class to repeat the phrase practiced in chorus to reinforce the pronunciation.
