Objectives: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: - Knowledge: Use lexical items related to health issues & know how to talk about health problems - Skills: Practice reading & speaking skills about one’s hobbies (Ind. (5’) - Organizing - Have ss make a list of words related to health/ unhealthy II. Presentation. - Chatting: T asks ss some prediction questions about the picture & focus ss’s attention on the topic of the lesson - Ss try to give answers III. Practice. *Activity 1a. (5’) (this activity focuses ss on the meaning of some similar phrases with the dialogue) -T asks ss to look at exe 1a first & plays the CD - ss listen carefully & find out the answers - Activity1b (5’) (this activity focuses ss on who wants to do these activities) - Have ss read the dialogue again box & complete the table - T has ss do Ind., then correct Activity2a. (10’) (this activity focuses ss on health problems) - Asks Ss to look at the pictures. Ss call out which word they think matches each picture - Asks ss to write the words bellow each picture, then plays the CD – ss listen & repeat - T corrects Ss’ results and gives the answers. Activity 2b (5’) (this activity focuses ss on real their health problems) - T asks Ss to rank the health problems from the most common (1) to the least (6) & share with a partner - T encourages ss to give reasons for their ranking - Ss work in groups Activity 3 (8’) (this activity focuses ss on the advice with the correct health problems) - Ask ss to read through the list of advice - Encourage ss to mimic advice Ex. T. Wash your hands regularly. Ss. (motion washing hands ) - Ss listen to the T & do as directed - T checks and remarks. Activity 4 (5’) (this activity focuses ss on playing game) - Show the way how to play - Have ss work in groups & take turns talking about health problems & advice - Or: asks ss to create dialogue around the problem/ advice IV. Role-play (7) - T & st model the role-play before class (try to make it as fun & dramatic as possible) - Asks ss to practice in pairs (choose a problem & make a role-play; perform the role-play for the class - Asks ss comprehension questions about what they just saw: ?What was …’s problem?
