Note: Pronunciation(ed) in regular verb: /id/when the verb ends in /t/,/d/: wanted,needed /t/ when the verb ends in /f, p, s, k, /: washed /d/ when the verb ends in the rest sounds :played - Verb ends in –e mute + d ,-y before y (a, e, i, o,u)+ ed:lived ; before y : a consonant y i+ed;Verb with one syllable ends in a consonant before a vowel , doubles the consonant +ed -irregular verbs must be learnt by heart. *Practice -Ask Ss to read the dialogue again and number the sentences . Ask them to exchange the result with the partner . Call on some Ss to give the answer in front of the class . Remark and give the correct answer : Liz went to Nha Trang .
