I. OBJECTIVE: 
- By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to know how to greet other people in right time in a day.
II. PREPARATIONS: Textbook, cassette player.
III. PROCEDURES:
TEACHER’S ACTIVITIES
STUDENTS’ ACTIVITIES
1/ Warm-up: (7’)
* Chatting
- Ask 2 pairs to greet and ask how others are in front of class.
- Correct and give marks.
- Introduce the new lesson (how to greet other in the day).
- Go to the board and practice with friends.
- Listen T’s introduction.
2/ Presentation: (10’)
- Play the tape and ask Ss to listen and repeat.
- Introduce vocabularies, structures:
1. Vocabulary:
+ Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, goodbye, good night, bye (exp): ( situation and example)
+ Children(n): ( example)
+ We are = We’re
We are children.
+ Mom(n): ( explanation)
+ How are you? – We are (we’re) fine.
- Guide Ss to read the new words and structures.
- Listen and repeat.
- Guess the meaning of the new words and structures
- Repeat, read in chorus and then in individuals.
3/ Practice: (15’)
$ Activity 1: Matching (B2- Page 15)
- Ask Ss to look at the pictures in B2 and English words below.
- Ask Ss to talk about the content of 4 pictures.
- Ask Ss to work in pairs (one show the picture, one read out the greeting)
$ Activity 2: Role- play: (B3, p15)
- Play the tape two times and ask Ss to repeat in chorus.
- Ask Ss to read the dialogues a) in groups and b) in pairs.
- Call on some groups and some pairs to show before class.
- Correct pronunciation.
- Look at the pictures and words.
- Work in pairs.
- Listen and repeat.
- Work in pairs and groups.
- Show loudly.
4/ Production: (10’)
* Gap- fill: (B4- p16)
- Ask Ss to work in pairs completing the dialogue.
- Have Ss to share the answers with a partner.
- Call on some pairs to read the completed dialogue loudly.
- Correct and give answer keys.
* Answer keys:
Lan: Good afternoon, Nga.
Nga: Good afternoon, Lan.
Lan: How are you?
Nga: I am fine, thanks. and you?
Lan: Fine, thanks.
Nga: Goodbye.
Lan: Goodbye.
-Work in pairs.
- Share the answers.
- Read the dialogue loudly
- Copy down.
5/ Homework: (3’)
- Ask Ss to
+ Do exercises B in workbook.
+ Learn vocabularies and structures by heart.

1/ Warm up: (8’)
* Jumbled words:
- Give some words in not order of the letters on the board.
- Ask Ss to rearrange the words which have meaning.
1. mane: ( Name)
2. dogo nevenig (good evening)
3. ew ear (we are)
- Introduce the new lesson (count from zero to twenty)
- Pay attention.
- Rearrange the letters.
- Listen T’s introduction.
2/ Presentation: (15’)
- Play the tape and ask Ss to listen and repeat.
- Introduce vocabularies, structures.
1. Vocabulary:
1. Number (n): (example)
2. Zero, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, nineteen, twenty.
2. Structure:
+ one and two is three.
+ three minus two is one.
- Guide Ss to read the new words and structures.
- Repeat in chorus.
- Guess the meaning of the newwords and structures
- Repeat, read in chorus and then in individuals.
3/ Practice: (15’)
$ Activity 1: Role- play: (B2, p17)
- Ask Ss to count from Zero to twenty in pairs.
- Go around and help if necessary.
- Call on some Ss to read in front of the class.
- Correct.
$ Activity 2: Chain- game
- Divide Ss to into three teams.
- Guide Ss to play the game.
T: one
Group 1: One, Two
Group 2: One, two, three
Group 3: One, Two, Three, four
- Work in pairs, read the numbers.
- Read loudly.
- Play the game as T’s guide.
4/ Production: (5’)
* Slap the board:
- Draw the circles with numbers on it.
- Ask Ss to go to the board and stand at the same distance.
- Call on in English numbers.
- Ask 2 Ss above to run fast as possible to slap the number teacher said, the winner is the one who is faster and the most correct. 
- Play as teacher’s guide.
5/ Homework: (2’)
- Have Ss:
+ Do exercises C1 page 7 in workbook.
+ Learn vocabularies and structures by heart.
+ Prepare C3, 4, 5.
- Take note.

* Bingo:( C5, P19)
- Ask Ss to choose 9 numbers from “Zero” to “twenty” then put them into squares in across and down.
- Read 12 numbers that teacher thinks. (If Ss have 3 numbers in a line, is winner and say BINGO).
- Introduce the new lesson.
- Read loudly.
 - Play as teacher’s guide.
- Listen T’s introduction.
2/ Presentation: (15’)
- Introduce new words, structures:
a. New words:
1. How old: (Translation)
2. Years old(n): ( Explanation)
3. This is: (Translation)
b. Structure:
1. Giới thiệu người khác:
+ This is + name. (Example)
2. Hỏi tuổi:
+ How old are you? – I am (I’m) + numbers. (Revise)
- Guide Ss to read the new words and structures.
- Play the tape and ask Ss to listen and repeat.
- Guess the meaning of the new words and structures
- Repeat, read in chorus and then in individuals.
- Repeat in chorus.

$ Activity 1: Role- play: (C3 p18)
- Ask Ss to read the dialogues in groups of three.
- Go around and help if necessary.
- Call on some groups to read in front of the class.
- Correct.
$Activity 2:Questions and answers:(C4,P19)
- Ask Ss to ask and answer the question “How old are you?”
- Call Some pairs to ask and answer loudly.
- Correct.
- Work in groups of three
- Read loudly.
- Work in pairs.
- Ask And answer loudly.
4/ Production: (5’)
* Dialogue- build:
- Ask Ss to make the dialogue in groups of three.
+ Greet
+ Introduce others.
+ Ask and answer the age.
Eg:A: Hello, __________. This is _____________
 B: Hi ____________. How old are you?
 C: I’m _____________years old.
- Ask Ss to go to the board and show the dialogues they have made.
- Correct. 
- Play as teacher’s guide.
- Show their work.
5/ Homework: (2’)
- Have Ss:
+ Learn by heart new words and structures.
+ Do exercises C4 page 10 in workbook.
- Listen and copy down.
