I. OBJECTIVES: 
Teaching aim: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to understand the text about Thu, how to use prepositions of place.
II. PREPARATIONS: Book, pictures, cassette player and tape.

1. Warm - up: (5’)
- Ask Ss play game “Bingo”

2. Presentation: (15’)
- Ask Ss to look at the picture.
- Introduce some new words:
 + yard (n) 
 + lake (n)
 + river (n)
 + trees (n)
 + flowers (n)
 + rice paddy (n) 
 + park (n)
 + near (pre)
 + beautiful (adj)
- Ask Ss to practice the new words.
- Check vocabulary: “Rub out and remember”
- Show Ss the picture and ask: 
 What’s near Thuy’s house?
3. Practice: (13’)
- Play the tape for Ss 3 times.
- Ask Ss to read the text and check their prediction.
- Call some Ss read the text.
- Ask Ss to look at the picture and say the model sentences:
 +What are those / is that? 
 + They are / it is 
- Ask Ss to practice in pair.
- Call some Ss to practice in front of class.
- Have Ss write words to complete the sentences in part 3/p.63.
- Call some Ss to go to the board and write the answer.
4. Production: (10’)
- Ask Ss to play game: “Lucky numbers”
