I.The aims and objectives.
- Knowledge:
+ Vocabulary: T provides Sts with words related to house, rooms and furniture.
+ Grammar: There is/ there are/ there isn't, there aren't.
- Skill : Listening and speaking.
- Living skill: Sts can introduce more about their rooms.
By the end of this period, students will be able to use " there is/ there are/ there isn't, there aren't" correctly and approciately.
- Attitudes: +To keep and preserve interesting places clean , tidy, and not damage them.

II. Teaching aids: T: Textbook, laptop, lesson plan, chalk, cues... St: Textbook. III. Procedures : 1.Organisation (1’): Good morning. How are you?/ Who’s absent today? 2.Checking up( 3’): - Write vocabulary. - Find the different word: + cups, rulers, mothers, chairs. ( cups) + Schools, rubbers, teachers, chalks.( chalks) + benches, boxes, vases, toilets ( toilets) -> T gives comments and introduces the new lesson. 3.The new lesson(38’): Content Teacher's Activities St's Activities I. WARM UP : Chain game ( Ss tell what rooms their house has ) S1: My house has a living room S2: My house has a living room and a dining room S3: My house has a living room , a dining room and a bathroom … -Ask Ss to play in groups of five. -Go around and give help. There are two lamps in the room. 4. There aren’t two lamps in the room. 5. Is there a picture on the wall? -Yes, there is/ No, there isn’t. 6. Are there two lamps in the room? -Yes, there are/ No, there aren’t. *Form : - Affirmative & Negative : There is (not) + singular noun/ uncountable noun There are (not) + plural noun - Questions and short answers -Is there a . . . ? -Yes, there is / No there isn’t -Are there + . . ? -Yes, there are/ No , there aren’t *Meaning : Có ai, cái gì (ở nơi nào) * Use : Diễn tả sự tồn tại của một, nhiều người, vật (ở nơi nào) 1. Presentation -T asks Ss to look at the two pictures of the two rooms and asks them what the first room has and what the 2nd room does not have . - Ss’s answers on the board , at the same time asks Ss to use the “there is , there isn’t , there are , there aren’t” structure to make sentences -T checks the meaning , use ,and form of the structure. -Explains if the noun is sinular or uncountable, we use “is” even if after this noun there are some other plural nouns. Eg: there is a dog and two cats un der the table. - Ss give more examples. 1. There is a school bag on the table. 2. There are 30 students in the room. T - Ss II. Practice * Activity 1 + 2. Are there . . . ? - Ss work in pairs. -Go round and correct mistakes or give help when necessary. - T asks Ss to write positive and negative sentences , using the cues - Ss write the sentences individually then go to the board to write their sentences - Other Ss and T feedbacks ( all the sentences are accepted if they make sense ) - T asks Ss to look at the picture and complete the description in pairs. - Ss compare their answers , then give teacher their answers. -Correct. work in pairs. III. Production: * Activity 6. Ex: A: Are there two bathrooms in your house? B: Yes, there are/ No, there aren’t. * Activity 7. Example : S1: What is your favourite room ? S2: It is my bedroom S1: Is there a bed in your bedroom ? S2: Yes / No S1: Is there a TV . . ? - Ss work in pairs to ask and answer the questions in Exercise 5 - T goes around to observe Ss working -T calls some Ss to repeat their partner’s answers - T models the conversation with a student - Some pairs act out the conversation. work in pairs. IV - CONSOLIDATION 2’ -Summarize the main points of the lesson. -Guide Ss to do home work. V- HOME WORK 1’ 1. Learn by heart the form, meaning and use of there is, there are… 2. Practice writing and speaking about your house at home 3.
