• Language content : + To introduce Ss to the text about job topic + To provide Ss with some new words relating to the topic

• Language function: + Reading the passage for specific information and guessing

 meanings of the words in context

• Educational aim : At the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:

 - develop their reading comprehension

 - understand the text and express their ideas about some advice for

 applying for the future job.

- make them aware of the importance of some factors that determine

 success in applying for the job.

I. Lead-in
-divides Ss into 2 groups
-asks the Ss to play game ” Puzzles”
-gives instructions” Ss from each group take turns to pick a leaf on the tree at random. There is a puzzle at the back of each leaf. He / she read aloud the puzzle to their groups and they have to guess what the job is. The first group to have the most correct answers is the winner”

There are some of the recent changes in the U.S job market. from manufacturing jobs to service jobs. Manufacturing jobs are jobs in which people make sth or produce things. Service jobs are jobs in which workers provide services. They are grouped into 5 categories: Transportation companies, Wholesale companies, Retail companies, Finance companies, and Personal services
One hundred years ago, 80% of workers produced goods, today only 30%. Economists predict that by the year 2020, 90% workers will work in service jobs
