-> To know about Duy and how to use the present simple and present progressive tense. greet in English. Let’s begin Unit 1.part a closer look 2
-Set the scene:
- Use pictures in page 8
+ Who are they ?
+ What is Mrs Nguyet doing?
 - Ask Ss to read and write correct form of the verbs. 
- Check 2 groups and correct.
- Have Ss correct the sentences in task 2 by using the information in task 1
- Call some Ss to go to the board to say and write down their answers
-Check and correct.
- Ask Ss to give the form and the use of the present simple themselves.
-Check and correct.
- Have Ss make questions by using the given words in task 3.
- Give an example.
1. Do you ride your bicycle to school?
 - Yes, I do / No, I don’t.
- Have some pairs take turns to ask questions and give answers.
-Check and correct.
- Have Ss look at and listen to the Getting Started again. Ask them to underline the the present continuous form.
- Ask some Ss to say out their answers
- Have Ss complete the sentences with the correct form of the verbs in task 5. Give an example first.
E.g: Yummy! I (have) school lunch with my new friends.
→ Yummy! I’m having school lunch with my new friends.
- Call some Ss to give out their answers.
- Have Ss choose the correct tense of the verbs in task 6.
- Ask some Ss to say out their answers
- Give the correct answer.
- Have Ss read Vy’s e-mail to her friend in task 7 to underline things that often happen or are fixed, then underline things that are happening now.

1/. Activity 1: Miss Nguyen is interviewing Duy for the school newsletter. Write the correct form of the verbs.

2/. Activity 2: Correct the sentences according to the information in task 1 above.

FORM:
- Positive:
I/you/we/they + V (work/study)
He/she/it + V-s/V-es (works/studies)
- Negative:
I/you/we/they + do not (don’t) + V
He/she/it + does not (doesn’t) + V
- Questions and short answers:
Do I/you/we/they + V ...?
Does he/she/it + V ...?
USE:
 The present simple is used to describe a habit, a repeated action in the present. The adverbs are often used in the present simple: always, usually, often, sometimes, seldom, rarely, never, every day/week/month ...
3/. Activity 3: Make questions then interview your partner.
Key:
2. Do you read in the library at the break time? (Yes, I do / No, I don’t.)

4/. Activity 4: Listen to part of the conversation from Getting Started again. Then find and underline the present continuous form.

USE:
 The present continuous is used to describe an action happening at the moment of speaking. The adverbs are often used in the present continuous: now, right now, at present, at the moment ...
5/. Activity 5: Complete the sentences with the correct form of the verbs.
