* Chatting:
- Make some real questions about what students did during their summer vacation.

2/ Presentation: (15’)
- Remind some main grammar in grade 8.
1. Pasive voice: be + P.P
2. -ed/ -ing participle:
“- ing” . (dùng để thay thế người)
“ -ed”. (dùng thay thế vật)
3. Would / Do you mind?
Would/ Do you mind + V-ing?
Would you mind + if + S + V (past)
Do You mind + if + S + V (present)
4. Compound words: N + V-ing
5. Reported speech:
* Yes/ no questions: 
S + asked + (O) + if/ whether + S + V (lùi thì)
* Statements:   
S +  said    +  ( that ) + S + V ( lùi thì )
S +   told   + O + S + V ( lùi thì )
- Listen and take note.
3/ Practice: (15’)
- Ask Ss to do exercises to check their knowledges.

I. OBJECTIVES: 
- By the end of the lesson , Ss will be able to introduce their fatherland to a foreigners pen pal about some places of interest in Ha Noi such as Hoan kiem lake , Ho Chi Minh museum , history museum.
II. PREPARATIONS: Textbook, cassette player, tape and some pictures
III. PROCEDURES:

1/ Warm-up: (5’)
- Show 6 pictures of places of interest of Vietnam, then ask : “Where are they?”
- Ask Ss to call out the name of the pictures, then elicit the meaning of “temple, mausoleum, mosque - pray”.
- Lead to the lesson.
- Look at 6 pictures and guess what places they are.
- Call out the name of the places:Temple of Literature ;HCM’s mausoleum; Dong Xuan Market; Ben Thanh market; history museum.
- Listen.
2/ Presentation: (15’)
$ Activity 1:
- Introduce the situation of the passage: “Razali Maryam, Lan’s pen pal visited her for the fist time and Lan took her to some places of interest in Hanoi.”
- Elicit some new words.
I. New words:
Ø be impressed by: ấn tượng (translation)
Ø correspond (v): trao đổi qua thư (explanation)
Ø seem (v): dường như (explanation)
Ø depend on (v): phụ thuộc (translation)

- Give some statements, and ask Ss to write wishes.
